Each volume covers a single school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the adventures therein. There are no constants; as the books progress we see the characters grow and their personalities change. Author JK Rowling is still at work on book five, but there will be seven books, one for each school year.

The Philosopher’s Stone

Spirits are high at the Quidditch World Cup, but the event is terrorised by dark forces. Later, events at Hogwarts divide friends and test Harry's skills as never before. Good book!

The Order of the Phoenix

Things get darker than ever and Harry finds out yet more about his destiny. Meanwhile Hogwarts itself is shaken by the rise of the toad-like Delores Umbridge.

The Half-Blood Prince

The sixth book - out now. Just think, we'll only experience the excitement of a HP book launch one more time.
